This does appear to be just the first of many free games intended to be offered on the platform. In terms of a game, it’s well worth trying out and how can you argue when it’s free? We have seen the company not only offer a much more attractive commission rate than Steam, but they have also managed to get many upcoming released to drop Steam in favour of them and even for pretty long exclusivity periods. Subnautica is free on the Epic Games Store until shortly after Christmas. If one thing has become certain over the last few weeks, it’s that the Epic Games Store is taking its remit as a game publisher very seriously.
